LAW was a band from Southern California whose sound incorporated a blend of… Wait a minute… “LAW 𝙬𝙖𝙨 a band…?” Yikes.
If you’re reading this bio, it means LAW has disbanded. Looks like for one reason or another the boys couldn’t figure out the small stuff. Or maybe it was just the timing? Either way, LAW is now officially non operational. The truth is, LAW was a project conceived of by Jakob Nowell and Dakota Ethridge on a sunny high school day in San Diego. Since the beginning, LAW had pressure to live up to expectations and that dynamic created a place of grave uncertainty. LAW didn’t know what it wanted to be, but dammit it tried. In each iteration of different bandmates, the face and sound of LAW changed. But what stayed consistent was the stress. It wasn’t all bad times however. LAW made some music that we all were proud of and we got to meet the greatest fans in the world, you guys. LAW’s final album “Lawful Evil” is still coming out. If you want to know the full story of what really happened, every detail of LAW’s fall is spelled out in the lyrics on each track. I sincerely hope you enjoy it. As for me personally (Jakob, it’s been me all along), being a part of LAW for the last 9 years of my life has been a lesson. It taught me about everything I want to be, but also everything I don’t want to be. So to put it plainly, I am not slowing down. The songs you know and love from LAW will not be lost, they will live on and be played in my new project along with all of the new material I’ve been playing and recording for the last 9 months. Follow me on my personal page for everything that’s to come. While you’re at it, cruise on out to a show and hear for yourself, I am playing shows constantly. You decide. My new project is something that is 100% my own: a band that is authentically me. I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you guys. But before I do, enjoy the last bit of LAW.
I guess that's the way the whole darned human comedy keeps perpetuatin' itself, down through the generations, westward the wagons, across the sands of time until we-- aw, look at me, I'm ramblin' again. Well, I hope you folks enjoyed yourselves. Catch ya later on down the trail.
